Is there a free plan?
Yes. Starter is free for 1 location and up to 10 employees, with scheduling, the time clock, timecards, time-off requests and messaging. Going over the limit asks you to upgrade; you are never charged for it.
How does the free trial work?
A new company gets 14 days of Complete, with every feature on. No card is needed until it ends. Then a company that fits Starter carries on there for free, and a bigger one picks a plan.
How is pricing counted?
Per location, per month. Paid plans have unlimited employees, so a busy season does not cost more. See pricing.
Do my employees need to download an app?
No. It runs in any phone or computer browser, and can be added to a phone’s home screen like an app. It is not in the App Store or Google Play.
Can we use a tablet as the time clock?
Yes. A manager sets a tablet up as the shop’s time clock, and each person punches in with their own PIN. People can also clock in from their own phone, with the location recorded.
What if there is no signal where we work?
Punches made on a phone with no signal are kept on the phone and sent when the signal returns, with the time they were actually made.
Does it run payroll?
No. It gets the hours right and hands them over: to QuickBooks Online as time activities, or as files to import into Gusto or ADP RUN, or as CSV, Excel and PDF.
Does it handle state sick-leave rules?
Schedules uses your business address to know your state, and checks your sick-leave policy against that state’s minimum before you save. Washington is supported today, with more states on the way. In other states you set the policy yourself. Accruals come with Crew and Complete.
Are text messages included?
Texts come with the paid plans: 500 per location per month on Crew and 1,000 on Complete, then $0.03 each. Anyone can reply STOP to stop them. See the SMS terms.
How do I stop texts?

Do new hires need an account to do their paperwork?
No. They get a private link, then fill in and sign their documents on their phone. You can use the built-in templates and upload your own PDF forms, like the W-4 and I-9. Onboarding comes with Complete.
Can I use a promo code?
Yes, enter it at checkout when you choose a plan.
